Brooke and Xavier talk before his parole. He says sorry for what he did. Brooke tells Xavier that she has sons now. She speaks during his parole hearing about her children, redemption, and if Xavier will ever change. She hopes he does, but does not think he will and knows he hasn’t. She says he should not be let out. Chase sees Chuck’s dad at the bar with a girl instead of with Chuck. He goes to check up on Chuck the next day.

Julian said that she did and it made him fall in love with her even more because of how strong she was. The Streets by Avalanche City

Haley says goodbye to Lydia and Jamie at the airport. They are going to stay with Lucas and Peyton while Nathan is still missing so Haley can deal with it. Lucas and Haley talk before they leave. Haley and Jamie reassure each other that everything will be okay. As they are walking to the gate Jamie stops and hugs Lucas. Dan keeps playing the video of Nathan over and over again until he notices something..

“Cause even with the lights gone out I know / the rhythm that our hearts pound out rolls on / It’s bounding through the streets scattering the cold / The marching band rolls on, / The marching band rolls on, rolls on / We’ll lead with the heart and let our heads follow / We’ll leave all the plans to work themselves alone / I’m hearing the ways that I have left to go / Oh you know it’s the sound that arrests my soul…”

As Lucas leaves Tree Hill with Jamie and Lydia, this song fits perfectly. Everyone is hurting without Nathan, but it’s time to believe everything will work itself out. The “lights” are basically out for the Scott family, but their “hearts” will pull them all through it as life continues to go on.

If I Had a Gun… by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

End of the episode. Brooke closes up the café while Xavier watches from the window. He has been released on parole. (Did anyone else have a terrible flashback to Brooke leaving the store and Xavier attacking her circa season 6? I did. Not cool, OTH!) Dan and Julian watch the video of Nathan and zoom in on a certain part. They find a clue as to where he could be and it’s not good. Clay talks to his therapist more about Nathan and if he’ll be found. Officer Steven’s ties up Nathan and tells him Haley says hi.  His captor finds he’s going to be getting more money, and then he can kill Nathan. (NO!!)
